"Well excuse me, your bloody highness," Sirius snapped back, just as much of a drama queen in the morning as Lily could be in her sense of annoyance. "When my head is pounding and I don't know what I'm wearing and I wake up next to my best mates future wife, yes, it takes me a while to catch up!" He was in the middle of unbuttoning his shirt and rebuttoning it when he realized he had done it wrong the first time, and he had already messed up for a second time in the mess of frantic fingers and his attention split between Lily and his clothing. "Well I don't know what happened, why would I know what - what are you talking about?" He stopped suddenly and his own tone peaked with frustration, hands finally falling away from his shirt as it hung open uselessly because he didn't know what was going on or where they were or what to do and buttons were really fucking hard right now.

It wasn't until she mentioned her ring that Sirius' face dropped in panic. Oh Merlin, no. "What do you mean it's not your ring, who's ring is it? Where is your ring?" No no no, that was Mum's ring, She couldn't lose that ring, James would kill both of them if she lost that ring while with Sirius. He moved to grab the sheets and lift them, perhaps to find the ring in the bed before he caught sight of his own left hand.

The sound that came out of Sirius would have been humiliating in it's high pitched squeal-like nature if he wasn't already so horrified.

He didn't think. Sirius immediately grabbed the band around his left ring finger and tore it off, tossing it across the room where it hit the wall and fell to the floor uselessly as he recoiled in upon himself, staring at the symbol of such deep commitment in horror. "I was wearing a ring- that wasn't my ring- where is your ring? Lily," he was panicking now, and he spun quickly when he realized what this looked like. Exactly what this looked like. Sirius bound onto the bed, moving across it on all fours before he grabbed Lily by her shoulders and straightened her to force her to look at him. He looked horrified. "Lily, what did we do last night?" He let go of her in favor or gripping at his own hair and looking around the room wildly.

"Oh Merlin. Oh no, oh holy Godric rolling in his fucking grave what did we do? No no no," he started to drag the blankets off of the bed, throwing them in panic onto the floor. "Okay, we're - we're going to find your ring and we're going to go find Prongs and we're going to just - not tell him! Yes, that's what we'll do, we'll get you out of that dress and into something decent and I'll wear - something - where are my clothes - no no, it doesn't matter, we'll buy more, we'll buy new clothes, and leave this filth behind us and he'll never know because if he knows I will die Lily, do you understand that?" He abruptly stopped so he could look at Lily wildly once more. "He will kill. me. I will die, let's just - what did we do?"

"Well, in case you haven't noticed it makes me impatient." Lily fired right back. Normally she wasn't quite this impatient, though, she couldn't boast infinite patience as one of her virtues on a normal basis. This, though, this would cause even a person with the patience of a saint to snap, Lily was positive on that matter. Sirius wasn't the only person who was trying to catch up, but she, well, she wasn't willing to take this the slow route, unlike him.

The redhead mostly ignored Sirius' fumbling with his clothes, not interested in pointing out his difficulty in a simple task...mainly because she didn't quite have the mental capacity for it. Especially not with her ring missing. "I can't remember a damned thing that happened last night. I know I got completely pissed because of the hangover, but beyond that it's all a blank." Lily's voice got increasingly louder until she ended on a shout that caused her own head to throb as she made her way down the side of the bed, looking for her ring.

"I mean it's not my bloody ring, it's that simple. It's a band. It's too new, it's not my ring, James' mum's ring." Lily spoke with her face downward, unable to look up until she heard the unnatural squeal that came out of one of her best mates (though she was questioning that right about now, all things considered). "What?!" Green eyes were wide, staring at Sirius in horror as he literally ripped a ring off of his finger and tossed it across the room; she heard the metallic clang against the plaster and watched as the small, simple piece of jewelry came to rest finally on the floor.

And Lily couldn't tear her eyes away until she felt Sirius grab her. "Ow, Sirius!" The redhead brought her hands up to push his off of her as she answered his question with the same thing she'd already said. "I already told you I don't know, but it's obviously bad!" Lily could feel the fear creeping up on her as she gave a gesture toward the abandoned ring on the floor. This definitely was pointing toward one particularly stupid thing that the two of them could have done. Lily didn't know how the hell she would have let it happen. How could they have been so stupid?

As Sirius, in his wild state, began to rip at the blankets from the bed, Lily took the time to move, slipping off of the bed, her bare feet hitting the floor...unsure of where her actual ring could be. After a moment she bent down, to peer under the bed, but all she found there were shoes, no ring. After that she was up again, looking over the nightstand and pulling the drawer before pausing to look at her fiancee's best friend, both brows lifting and a strange look on her face at his ridiculous notions and planning, plus the way he was bouncing around. Even tough she was fighting the urge to vomit...well, Lily had to pull this together, somehow. "Sirius, we can't just not tell him....and wen're not buying new clothes. You're not going to die, either." Though, she wasn't actually sure about that last bit. James might surprise her. "You need to just....slow down now you're acting mad--oh Merlin no!"

Lily only turned her head long enough to peer into the drawer, but it derailed her entire plan to be calm, to try and handle this rationally. Instead she pulled out a piece of parchment and waved it around, taking her own turn at behaving wildly. "This is a bloody marriage certificate, Sirius!" She practically shoved the paper at him before she turned back, pulling the drawer out even further. "Please tell me this is some cruel joke, please! Tell me it's something you two gits cooked up because you thought it'd be funny and this isn't real..."

Even as she begged Sirius, Lily knew that it wasn't a joke.....couldn't be, could it?
